A. M. Humphrey
Rites Thursday

Amorous M. Humphrey, 71, Shawmut, died at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday at George H. Lanier Memorial Hospital, Langdale, following a short illness.

A native of Macon County, Ala., he was born Dec. 26, 1897. Mr. Humphrey was a member of the Shawmut Methodist Church and a retired employee of the Fairfax Mill.

Funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday ar the Johnson-Brown Srvice Funeral Home Chapel, Langdale, with the Rev. Woodrow Forshee and the Rev. J. H. King officiating. Burial will be in the Shawmut Cemetery.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Cora L. Humphrey; a son, Vernell Humphrey, Langdale; two stepsons, Dannis Spivey, Daton, Washington and Lewis Sivey, Muscogee, Okalhoma; two sisters, Mrs. Caddle Lee Davis, Shawmut and Mrs. Vernice Pinkard, Fairfax; a brother Jessie Humphrey, Besemer, Ala., and three grandchildren.
