AKERS, Betty (Eckert) age 91, passed away on August 20, 2010. She was born March 13, 1919 in Excello, OH. She was married to Valentine Akers for 59 years, who passed away on August 11, 2010. She was a secretary for the Office of Price Administration and was a secretary for Grimes Insurance Company. She chose to leave the professional world to become a full time homemaker, with hobbies of decorating and gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Emma (Palmer) Eckert; her brothers, Palmer and Thomas Eckert; her sister, Laura Jane Conrad. She is survived be her son, David (Anne) Akers; her daughter, Jane Akers; her granddaughter, Elizabeth Akers and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements: Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 from 9-11:00 am at the Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 11:00 am with Rev. Marti Pepitone officiating. Interment will be at the Miltonville Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Downs Syndrome Association at 644 Linn Street, Cincinnati, OH 45203-1734 or Hospice of Butler & Warren County at 5940 Long Meadow Drive, Franklin, OH 45005.
