OBIT- 2 December 1924 EVENING TRIBUNE, Albert Lea, Freeborn Co, Minnesota
A gloom of sadness was cast over the entire community of Myrtle when it became known that Mrs Albert Schuhmacher Jr, had passed away.
Amelia Katherine Schuhmacher was born in Sweden, 1 January 1892, and was baptized 14 February of the same year, and died 22 November 1924 at the Naeve hospital in Albert Lea.
In May 1892, her parents immigrated to the United States and settled at Verndale, Minnesota in Todd County. At the age of 16 years she received instructions and was confirmed at Aldrich, Minnesota, 12 April 1908. She was united in marriage to Albert Hugo Schuhmacher on 18 June 1919.
Mrs Schuhmacher was a faithful member of the Lutheran church near Myrtle. She also was a member of the Lutheran Ladies Aid of which she was a true and faithful worker, always ready and willing to give a helping hand.
On November 22, at 4:40 a.m. she gave birth to a baby girl and passed away shortly after. The little daughter was Baptized at noon receiving the name of her mother, Amelia Katherine. She followed her mother the following day, November 23.
Mrs Schuhmacher was an exceptionably good woman, a devoted wife and a comrade to her husband, a splendid neighbor and a loyal friend. She had her own quiet way of doing Christian acts, always being of a quiet disposition she was loved and respected by all who knew her.
The calling of this young wife and mother will leave a vacancy in the home, which never can be filled.
The funeral was largely attended at the Lutheran church, Tuesday, 25 November. The church was filled with relatives and friends to pay their last tribute after which the body was taken to her last resting place at Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery. Rev J.O. Steahling, the local pastor and Rev H.A. Diers of Zions Lutheran church of Northwood officiating. Floral offerings were some of the most beautiful ever seen in the church.
She leaves to mourn her death, a beloved husband and her four year old daughter, her mother, Mrs Backberg, four brothers, and three sisters, Lenhard of Staples, Minn, Axle of Dallas, Oregon, Herbert, Carl and Hannah of Verndale, Minn, Mrs Steverin Knutson of Fargo, North Dakota, Mrs Harold Ohlman of Deer Creek, Minnesota.
She also leaves a father and mother-in-law and seven sister-in-laws, eight brothers-in-law, a host of other relatives and friends.
The sympathy of the entire community is extended to her bereaved husband and daughter.
Nothing but words of praise and highest esteem can ever be spoken of Mrs Schuhmacker and we feel that this neighborhood and Ladies' Aid has lost one of its best friends.
Her vacant chair can never be filled.
O, how sadly we will miss her,
Her gentle voice we hear no more,
For she is asleep with Jesus,
Over on the other shore

Sad and lonely will the days be,
As they flit from year to year,
But her sacred memory lingers,
Even tho' her form's not here.

But there's comfort in knowing,
Thats he doeth all things well,
Love and kindness over flowing,
True love for her we'will ever tell.
