Katie S. Kendler, 76, died Oct. 30 at her home at 1228 Jackson St. She was born Jan. 30, 1874 in Modoc County, Cal., and married Joseph W. Liles Nov. 8, 1892. He died in 1924. On Jan. 25, 1947 she married George Kendler in Vancouver, Wash. She lived in Lane County the past 55 years and in Eugene the past ten years. She was a member of Crow Grange, Elmira Rebekah Lodge, and the Baptist Church.
Surviving are her widower; a son, Virgil Liles, Eugene; a grandson Charles Virgil Liles, Veneta; two step-daughters, Mrs. R. E. Peterson, Santa Barbara, Cal. and Mrs. R. C. Young, Eugene; two sisters, Henrietta Brewer, Eugene, and Edwinna Burroughs, Elmira.
Services will be at Poole-Larsen Mortuary Friday at 11 a.m., with interment at West Lawn cemetery.
