VERY SUDDEN DEATH
Tuesday morning P.S. Rosenbalm was in this city in apparent good health. Wednesday morning in answer to a call over the phone, Buck Rosenbalm and Dr. Robinson drove out to his farm in Richland Township, found that he had been taken with a stroke apoplexy at 6 o’clock that morning and at 2 o’clock, Wednesday, death ensued. He was born in Washington County, Va., in 1841, and the family came to this county in 1884. He leaves a wife, two sons, Festus and Mack, and Mrs. W. H. Hovendick is the only daughter. Beside B. Rosenbalm, his brother, he had many relatives and friends in this county who mourn the loss of a citizen generally respected for many virtues. The funeral service, by Rev. Fowler, will be from the residence on Friday forenoon and burial at Blair Cemetery.

Parker Smith Rosenbalm was born in Washington County, Va., Jan 9, 1844, and was married to Miss Julia Ann VanHuss in Nov. 1862. There was born to them three children, Festus N., S. M. and Mrs. L. A. Hovendick, all of whom are now living. The family came to this county 19 years ago and he died May 13, 1903, aged 59 years, 4 months and 4 days. He had been a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church since 1861. He was a good citizen and a kind and loving father. In 1861 he enlisted in Co. H. 37th Va. Volunteers. At the battle of Kearnstown deceased was wounded and lost the sight of one eye. He was discharged, volunteered again in the 48th Va. Regulars and received two more wounds in battle. His death is a great loss to the community and the family, which has the sympathy of many friends.
