Funeral services were held Thursday, August 12, at 10 a.m. in the Honaker Funeral Home, Slidell for Ms. Dorothy "Dottie" Matulich Alford, 58, of Slidell, who died Saturday, August 7. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation was held Thursday, August 12, from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. A native of New Orleans and a resident of Slidell, she was a childcare provider who loved children dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents Anthony and Maude C. Matulich. Survivors include her husband, David W. Alford; two children, Matthew and Carlye Alford; a granddaughter, Ryleigh Claviere; two sisters, Lynda M. Bosco and Patsy M. Scheinuk; and two special friends, Shelley and Melanie, who were "the wind beneath her wings". Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or Memorial Hospice of Slidell preferred, in lieu of flowers.
