Reba June McPherson

Reba “June” McPherson went to be with the Lord on September 15, 2012 at Hendricks Medical Center in Abilene. She was born on December 26, 1934 in Valliant, Oklahoma to Lloyd and Opal Scott Brodie. June was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was a member of the Shiloh Bible Church which she loved deeply. She married Willis “Rusty” McPherson in Fort Worth on June 24, 1955. They enjoyed 54 wonderful years of marriage. She loved to travel and they did that by way of military life. They retired in Elm Grove to farm and ranch. June worked at New Horizons and Richland Springs I.S.D. She enjoyed working with the children.
She is survived by one son Richard McPherson and wife Sharon of Abilene, one daughter Valarie Gossett and husband Wayne of Elm Grove. Four grandchildren Gary Gossett and his wife Claylene of Rochelle, Rayna Skaggs and husband Will of DeLeon, Casey Gossett and wife Sally of Elm Grove, Chad Gossett and wife Carolyn of San Angelo, Great grandchildren Shaylene Rumfield; Amber Brown, Shawn and Savannah Skaggs, Jordan, Jacey and Chase Gossett; Kensie and Dusti Gossett; one brother Sonny Brodie and wife June of Weatherford; two sisters Gerry Theil and Virginia Lewis of California. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Tuesday September 18, 2012 in the Blaylock Funeral Chapel in San Saba, with Bro. Bill Slaymaker officiating. Interment will follow in the Varga Chapel Cemetery; the family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Monday evening at Blaylock Funeral Chapel in San Saba. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to the Richland Springs ISD Library. Arrangements under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Chapel of San Saba.
