Mr. Ocie Lee Atchley, age 87, of Quintown died Wednesday, August 18, 2010, at Walker Baptist Medical Center. Funeral services will be 12 Noon Saturday, August 21, 2010, at Bell Sumiton Chapel with burial in Shanghi Cemetery. Mr. Tommy Alford will officiate. Visitation will be 10:30 AM to 12 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Bell Funeral Home Sumiton is handling arrangements.

He served his country during WWII in the Pacific Theater, serving on the USS Biloxi. A retired miner with UMWA Maxine Mines, and member of Quintown Church of Christ, he was a very kind and friendly person. He was loved by his family and had many special friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene Atchley; son, Clifford Atchley; brothers, Bill, R.B., and Edward Atchley and sisters, Elsie Atchley Anderson and Lillie Atchley Finley.

Mr. Atchley is survived by his children, Linda Atchley Mezick and husband, Larry of Quinton, Nancy Atchley Moore and husband, Jesse of Crane Hill, Clete Atchley and wife, Margie of Springville, Kathryn Atchley and husband Larry of Trussville and Lowell Atchley of Quintown; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
