Ruth Babec Obituary
ELKIN - Ruth Virginia Babec, 82, of 12285 N.C. Highway 268 of Elkin, passed away Monday, Oct. 9, 2006, at Britthaven of Wilkesboro. Ruth was born in Wilkes County on March 4, 1924, to the late Sanford Swim Alexander and Sarah Sparks Alexander. She was a longtime member of White Plains Baptist Church in Roaring River. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, James Edwin Latner, on Dec. 25, 2005; four sisters; and two brothers. She is survived by four brothers, Clayton (Pauline) Alexander of Roaring River, Donald (Vickie) Alexander of Elkin, Larry Alexander of Hayes and William Alexander of Roaring River; three sisters, Helen Goforth of Statesville, Doris Mastin of Roaring River and Patsy (Chick) Hayes of North Wilkesboro; and a host of loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. today, Oct. 12, at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Monroe Huffman officiating. Burial will follow at White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery in Roaring River. Johnson Funeral Home of Elkin is serving the Babec family.
