Native was born in King Ryder Community
to Arthur and Iona Wright Green. She
attended Winthrop and Foreman Schools
where she graduated in 1954.
On July 11, 1954 she and Charles Andrew
Davis were wed. They made their home in
Richmond bottoms where the grew cotton
and raised cattle. After Mr. Davis' death
in 1982, she continued the farming operation,
and later, in partnership with her son, Chuck,
ventured into raising chickens.
Mrs. Davis, or Memmaw as she is known to her
seven grandchildren, was a member of
AshdownChurch of Christ. She was preceded
in deathby her parents, husband, and sister,
Bama Weed Turner.
Survivors include one son, Charles Andrew
Davis, Jr.; two daughters, Doris D. Ward,
and Deana Jo Atkins, all of Ashdown; her
grandchildren, Charles Davis III, Dugan Ward,
Will C Ward, Andrea Akins, Michael Akins II,
and Wesley Andrew Akins, all of Ashdown;
two sisters, Thelma Jo Owen of Ashdown, and
Geraldine Vann of Gillham, Arkansas; and
one brother, Billy Ray Green of Foreman.
