Son of Franz Steiner (B 11 Dec 1800) and Anna Schwab (B 30 Jun 1803).
Born, Nieder-Johnsdorf Nr. 84 bie Landskron, Sudetenland
Immigrated to USA in 1871 and settled in Bucklin, Linn Co, Missouri.
* From Linda Keller Alders research: They bought 80 acres, Legal description: the North one half(1/2) of the South East quarter(1/4) of Section 14, Township 57N, Range 18W, August 16, 1871 at the price of $900 and paid CASH. Papers were signed by Frank only. They were filed and recorded on Sept. 25, 1871. ***NOTE*** just a mere 23 days after arriving in the USA. Property has a creek called Van Dorsen running thru the property and a larger one called Mussel Fork to the east.
They sold the property back to Louis Stuenkel, the same person they bought it from, on Feb. 11, 1880 for $600. and the deed was recorded on Feb. 13, 1880. **NOTE** loss $300 ??Why?? Johanna made a X for your signature and Frank signed her full name.
The property today lies South of Hwy 36, and is the western north side of a 2,491 Acre area called Mussel Fork Wildlife area owned by the Mo. Conservation Dept.
* Eight years later they moved to De Kalb County Missouri. They bought the Steiner farm that was then passed to son Julius Steiner, and later Julius's son Earl Steiner. Farm is now occupied by Earl's son Larry Steiner.
