Agnes Abner Urbain, 89, of Brownstown and formerly of Medora, passed away at 3:20 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010, at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown.
Mrs. Urbain was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Medora. She was a homemaker and retired in 1981 after 12 years of employment at H.O. Canfield, Seymour.
Born Oct. 8, 1920, in Clark County, Ky., she was the daughter of Robert and Maude White Abner, both of whom preceded her in death. On July 6, 1943, in Bel Air, Md., she married Lester Roscoe Urbain, who preceded her in death Nov. 12, 1978.
Survivors include one son, Lester (Rebecca) Urbain, Freetown; one daughter, Darlene Beckemeyer, Columbus; two brothers, Donald (Mary) Abner, Georgia, and Dennis Abner, Seymour; two sisters, Oma Napier, Brownstown, and Shirley Rawlings, Seymour; three grandchildren, Sheila (Chuck) Richards, Seymour, Angie (Gene) Smith, Freetown, and Brian Butterick, Berment, Ill.; and one great-granddaughter, Kayla Fish.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
William McCormick will conduct funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Spurgeon Funeral Home Inc., Brownstown. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association , Don and Dana Myers Cancer Center or Hoosier Christian Village Auxiliary.
