Correl came to Towanda, Bradford County, PA in 1853 at age 23.
In 1853 he helped build a mill for James H. Phinney near Silas Corner (Towanda).
In the fall of 1854 he helped build a sawmill near Millstone Creek for John F. Means.
He married Elizabeth Crane on March 6, 1856. He was from Overton (near Towanda) and she was from Burlington, PA. The couple had three sons. Correl had a farm near Franklin, Bradford County, PA.
