John W. Hoy, age 76 years, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Marlyn Johns Sr., Loyalton,, on Thursday.
Mr. Hoy was a son of the late Valentine and Christina (Koppenhaver) Hoy, and was a native of Rife. He had resided in Iowa and North Dakota a number of years. His wife, formerly Miss Mary Etta Hepner, preceded him in death.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Johns, of Loyalton; one son, Howrad Hoy, of Washington; four sisters, Mrs. C. H. Schwalm, Rife; Miss Sara Hoy, Philadelphia; Mrs. Charles Sheesley and Mrs. Charles Saul, Harrisburg; two brothers, Grant Hoy, Harrisburg, and Harry Hoy, Reading; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services were held from the Helt Funeral Home, Lykens, at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Rev. H. M. Young, pastor of the Loyalton Evangelical United Brethren Church officiated and interment was made in Zion's Lutheran and Reformed Church Cemetery at Rife.
