Ardale G. Hirt, age 92, formerly of Tigerton, passed away Tuesday evening, Nov. 28, 2000, at Homme Home of Wittenberg where she had been a resident for many years. Beil-Didier Funeral Home in Tigerton is assisting the family.
The former Ardale Gleora Gurholt was born Sept. 22, 1908, at Scandinavia, Wis., the daughter of the late Jonas and Anna (Dahlen) Gurholt. She was a graduate of Stevens Point Normal School with a teaching degree, taught school at Arnott, Wis. and later at Tigerton Elementary School.
She was united in marriage to Erwin Hirt on July 14, 1938, at Scandinavia. The couple lived their married lives in the Tigerton area. Erwin passed away on April 1, 1984.
Ardale was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Tigerton, St. John's Ladies Aid, had served as church organist and was a member of the church choir. She had also participated in a community choral group during the 1950's. Her interests included music, reading and scrabble.
Survivors include: a son, Dorian (Judith) Hirt of Eland; a daughter, Dorothy Hirt of Fairfax, Va.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Delmar Gurholt of Waupaca. Ardale was preceded in death by: her husband, Erwin; one son, Norman; one brother, Carsten; one sister, Ovadia.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 1, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Tigerton with the Rev. Clifford Kessen officiating.
Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Tigerton. Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. this evening at Beil-Didier Funeral Home in Tigerton and on Friday at the church from 9:30 until the time of services. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Ardale's name.
