Miranda M Westcott was the daughter of Hardin and Diantha (Wilson) Westcott. She was born on 4 November 1824 in Mendon, Monroe, New York and died in Monona, Clayton, Iowa on 26 October 1913. Miranda first married Rev Elisha J McClelland, the son of Daniel & Ursala (Jacob) McClelland, about 1841, in probably Niagara County, New York. Their first child, name unknown, was born in about 1842, and died within a year. Their second child, named Percival Wilson was born on 14 October 1846 in Newark,Licking, Ohio. The third child, named Celestia B was born on 15 February, 1850 in Newark, Licking, Ohio. The fourth child, named Frank Warner, was born on 30 October 1856 in Plymouth, Richland, Ohio. Elisha J McClelland, her husband, died about 1860 while enroute from Postville, Allamakee, Iowa to a new position in Appleton, Wisconsin when he died.
