Married Timothy Searl 17 April 1842 in Bureau County, IL.

Martha and her family settled in Pleasanton, Linn County, KS, in 1862 and lost everything in the raids of Gen. Sterling Price during the Civil War October 1864.

Timothy brought his family back in 1870 to farm in Hall Township, Bureau County, IL.

They next moved to settle in 1879 in Harlan Township, Page County, IA, farming 1885 in Clarinda, Page County, IA. Timothy's sister Malissa also settled in the area with her husband J H Hoskins and family.

Martha died at the home of her daughter Barbara Ann Holman in Coffeyville, KS and the body was returned to Clarinda for burial next to her husband in Hazelwood Addition, Clarinda Cemetery, Clarinda, Page County, IA, and son Alpheus 'Alp' next to them.
