Born in either Wisconsin or New York (census records disagree) in either 1851 or 1852; she married Robert Anderson Reid on 8 January 1872 in Oxford, Marquette County, Wisconsin. She and "Anderson" went on to have four known children, Frederick, also known as Frank, Robert, Sylvia and Mary or May. Amanda and Anderson eventually left Wisconsin and moved to northern Minnesota, moving between the 1910 and 1920 census. Amanda's husband is buried in the Colburn-Leola Cemetery, Adams County, Wisconsin.
