He was born August 9, 1939, in Rigby, Idaho, to Robert Emerson Branson and Donna Brown Branson. He grew up in Rigby and graduated from Rigby High School. He lived in Oregon, Arizona and Germany before settling in Idaho Falls. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Bob served his country in the United States Army with the Military Police during the Vietnam War.
On June 12, 1959, he married JoAnn Fallis in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Together they raised six children. JoAnn passed away in January 2000.
Bob worked as an industrial mechanic at Idaho National Laboratory for 36 years. He enjoyed motorcycles, old cars, hunting, hiking, fishing and camping. He was an avid member of the United Steel Union.
Survivors include his children, Robert Joe Branson, Brian David Branson, Lucinda "Cindy" Analee Bishop, Susanna Michelle Isaacson, Jennifer Angelina Branson and Alesha Joann Branson; sisters, Charlene West and Karen Rockwood; and 30 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, JoAnn; and his granddaughter, Jode Branson.
