George Babb
Elverson, Feb. 18 (1957) - George Babb, 88, died last night at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John Kurtz.
Born in Birdsboro, he was the son of the late Jeremiah and Margaret (Geiger) Babb. He had been the last employe at the Reading Iron Co., Birdsboro, where he was employed as a nail cutter, prior to his retirement.
He was a member of the Orioles Lodge, Birdsboro. His wife, Mrs. Elizabeth (Bookmiller) Babb, preceeded him in death 25 years ago.
Surviving are these children: Mabel, wife of Alvin W. Sponagle, Birdsboro; Edith, wife of Glen Fowler, Allentown; Catherine, wife of John Kurtz, Elverson; and George A., of Birdsboro; 12 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren, and a sister, Almeda, widow of John C. Beidler, Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Mohr Funeral Home, Birdsboro, with the Rev. John A. Dietterle officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Birdsboro. - Reading Eagle - Feb. 18, 1957 - page 20
