He graduated from Crosbyton High and attended Sul Ross University where he was quarterback on the football team. He then attended North Texas State University, where he met the love of his life, Beverly Hornsey. They married August 4, 1961, were married 31 years, and had four children. He finished his education at Texas Tech University. Dale spent most of his life as a cattleman and was well-respected in the industry. He had a natural talent and passion for sports, and most enjoyed watching his children, and grandchildren, play ball. Dale was a long time fan of the Liberty Hill Panthers, the Thrall Tigers, and the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
Dale is preceded in death by his father, Floyd Hill, and his brother Marvin.
He is survived by his mother Bernice, of Thrall, one son, Robert and wife Sandra of Liberty Hill, and three daughters, Reisha Stolte and husband David, Serena Reed and husband Richard, and Kristina Richter and husband Lance, all of Taylor. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren that adored him, and one great-grandchild. Dale will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be Weds, Aug.18, 6-8pm at the home of Reisha & David Stolte in Taylor. Formal visitation will be Thurs., Aug 19, 6pm at Adams Funeral Home in Crosbyton, Texas. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held Fri., Aug 20, 10am at First Baptist Church of Crosbyton. Internment to follow at Crosbyton Cemetery.
