HART -- Richard Hart, age 89, Residentof the McKenzie Area since 1908 died at the Veterans Hospital in Vancouver, Washington January 6. He was born June 12, 1885 in Kentucky, and was married to Ivy Earl December 26, 1921 at Stevensville, Montana, and they had just recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. Mr. Hart served in the U. S. Army during World War I, and was involved in many of the wartime campaigns. He worked for the Bitterroot Valley Irrigation District at Stevensville, Montana for a number of years and was employed by the Eugene Water Board for over 35 years in construction work Mr. Hart was a member of the Thurston Christian Church, the Masonic Lodge at Stevensville, a 50 year member of the Royal Arch of Eugene and a member of the VFW, Springfield Post, number 33965. Surviving are his wife, Ivy, a daughter, Mrs. Warren (Norma) Larsen of Springfield. 3 brothers, Albert, Ery, and Matt all of Springfield. 3 sisters, Eva Easton, of Leaburg, Julia Gillespie, Springfield, and Lucy Peyton of Centralia, Washington, 2 granddaughters Dora Hudson and Arlene Boylan, and 4 great grandchildren. 2 brothers and 1 sister preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held awt the BURNS FREDERICKSEN FUNERAL HOME, Wednesday, January 12 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor John Bigham of the Thurston Christian church officiating. Private commital services will be held at Rest Haven Memorial Park.
