Robert Litzenberger, of Aledo, driver of the car involved in the accident testified that it was unavoidable since Mr. Huffman's car swerved back and forth across the road in the encounter. It was supposed that he was unable to control it on account of illness induced by high blood pressure from which he had suffered. It is believed that his head struck the steering wheel, causing a brain hemorrhage. He was unable to get out of his car and was taken by a neighbor to the hospital upon the advice of a physician.
Mr. Huffman was serving his first term as supervisor and was highly respected by members of the county board as well as by his neighbors and acquaintances.
Surviving are his widow and a son James of Preemption and a daughter Mrs. Glenn Hopkins of Aledo.
The funeral services were held in the Preemption church Tuesday afternoon. Burial was in Farlow's Grove cemetery at Matherville.
