Ruth Mildred Robinson, 94, Viola, died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2001, at Mercer County Nursing Home, Aledo.

Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Viola Presbyterian Church. Burial is in Viola Cemetery.

Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Family Funeral Services, Viola. Memorials may be made to Viola Presbyterian Church or Mercer County Animal Shelter.

She was born Sept. 29, 1906, in Kirkwood, Ill., the daughter of Howard and Henrietta Gray VanTine. She married Arthur Allen Robinson July 3, 1929, in Champaign, Ill. He died in 1989.

In her earlier years she worked at Monmouth Telephone Co., in the '40s she worked as a waitress in Viola, and during the '50s and '60s she worked at Erikson's Grocery Store in Viola.

She was involved in her card club in Viola for more than 50 years. She enjoyed her cats.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Frances Cree, Fort Wayne, Ind.; sons, Jerry Robinson, Golden, Colo., Dean Robinson, Rock Island, and Jim Robinson, Rock Island; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three grandchildren, three brothers and four sisters.
