W.P.Oliver Succumbs At Shawmut Home
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Shawmut Methodist Church for W.P.Oliver whose death occured at his home in Shawmut Saturday. Mr. Oliver had lived in Shawmut about 13 years and had a host of friends and relatives who mourn his loss. He was a faithful member of the Shawmut Methodist church. His pastor, Rev H.K.Barr assisted by Rev Earl Trent, was in charge of the funeral services. Interment took place in Shawmut cemetery. Schnedl-Jones Funeral Directors in charge. Surviving Mr. Oliver are his wife and seven children: John Oliver of Lagrange, Joe Oliver of Greenville, SC., Mrs. Alice Spivey, Decatur, Ala., Mrs. Mattie Richardson, Hogansville, James, Dolphus and Jesse of Shawmut; one brother, Robert Oliver of Orlando, Fla., eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
