Lelia A. Moore, 106, died at 11:52 a.m. Aug. 14, 2010, at Hardin Memorial Hospital.


She was born March 12, 1904, in Beaverdam to Delos and Perlie Lee Tucker Schoonover. She had been married to Francis Hefner, William E. Musser, Harold McDorman and Garland Moore, who all preceded her in death.

Mrs. Moore had been the head housekeeper at Lima Memorial Hospital. She had been a member of Westminster United Church of Christ. She was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, gardening and traveling. In her 106 years she lived to see many events and changes in the world.

Survivors include three daughters, Mildred L. McAlister, of Texarkana, Ark., Ronelva E. (Kenneth W.) Little, of Wapakoneta, and Marlene J. Pummell, of Lima; a stepdaughter, Waneta (Jess) Krontz, of DeGraff; nine grandchildren; and two sets of six generations of grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Warren and Walter Musser; two daughter, Betty J. and Jeanie K. Musser; a stepson, Clarence Musser; a great-grandson, Gary Robert McComb; a great-great-great-grandson, Brecken Nicholas McComb; two brothers, Campsey and Ralph Schoonover; and a sister, Mildred Schoonover Leffel.

Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Lewis Eastside Chapel. The Rev. Gale Gebhart will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima.
