He was a veteran of the US Army WW II Pacific Theater, worked as a carpenter and millwright for many years retiring from Local 174.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Theresa E. (nee Herbenak) Dumyahn, a daughter Kathleen (Rick) Orlowski, grandchildren Todd (Marion) Placher, Robert Placher, Ryan Orlowski, Kristen Orlowski, great grand daughter Summer Placher, brother Bernard T. (Rita) Dumyahn Sr., Helen (late Donald) Malinowski, Lois (Late Ronald) Smith, sister in law Dorothy Dumyahn, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Gilbert was preceded in death by parents Clarence E. Sr. and Mary A. (nee Strametz) Dumyahn; his son Kevin R. Dumyahn, brother Clarence Jr.
Services held Thursday June 10, 2010 from the funeral home at 10:30 AM to St. John Church for a mass of Christian burial at 11:00 AM.
