Gary D. Marine, 57, of Fairfield passed away Friday, Aug. 13, 2010, at a Tyler medical center after a long and courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). Gary left us for his heavenly home. Service: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Capps Memorial Chapel, Pastor Bubba Rutherford officiating. Graveside service: 3 p.m. Tuesday in Mount Marion Cemetery in Strawn, Brother Billy Anger officiating. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be James Coker, Eddie Menchaca, Paul Lopez, Gates Lopez, Jason Chiles and Glen Boyd. Gary was a humble and loving person. He was born Jan. 28, 1953, in Stephenville to Donald and Donnie Tarver Marine. He grew up in Richland Hills, graduated from Richland High School and attended Tarrant County College. Gary moved to Fairfield in 1982 and worked for TXU for 26 years before becoming disabled. He was a dedicated worker and loved his job and his coworkers. Gary was a Baptist and loved and trusted the Lord Jesus Christ. He loved deer hunting, snow skiing, playing darts, and motorcycles. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. Survivors: Left to miss him every day are his daughter, Cristal Chiles and husband, Jason; sons, Travis and Cory Marine; grandchildren, Sierra, Peyton and Karlee Chiles, and Landon and Kohlton Marine; parents, Don and Donnie Marine; sister, Cheryl Lopez and husband, Paul; nephew, Gates Lopez; niece, Sydney Lopez; a host of uncles, aunts and cousins; and special friends and caring nurses, Lori, Michelle, Carolyn and Bennie.
