Robert Sample, a resident of Marion township for seventy years, died at his home, January 21, 1905. He was born in Nicholas county, Kentucky, Sept. 26, 1830, and at time of death was 74 years, 3 months and 25 days old. He died of uremea after an illness of three years. He was married January 22, 1863 to Elizabeth Swope, and one child, Emma Sample, survives. He leaves two brothers, Hugh M., of Clinton township and John R. of Clinton county; also two sisters, Elizabeth Benefiel, of Elwood, and Margaret McKinzie of Thorntown. Funeral services were conducted from the Hopewell church, on Monday at eleven o'clock. Interment at cemetery adjoining.
