They divorced 1902 - Divorce was granted to Viola Jones from Lemuel Jones on the grounds of adultery. The decree also grants to the woman the care and custody of the children and an alimony of $2,000. And an attachment was also issued against the property of the defendant for the said $2,000.

Viola went on to marry William McKenna and had four more children.

In 1910 Lemuel was living with wife Anna (Enslinger) Jones, sister of Viola.
