Obie Leroy (Booter) Gibbs, 79, of Waterloo, Ala., passed away Aug. 11, 2010. His funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010, at Morrison Funeral Home chapel, Central Heights, with Wayne Woods officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Booter was a native of Lauderdale County, Ala., where he retired from the county road department after 29 years. He really enjoyed everyone that came by and visited. We thank everyone; your friendship is truly appreciated.

He was preceded in death by parents, Gilbert and Mamie Gibbs; brother, Irvin Gibbs; sisters, Ollie Curry and Mary Jane Lard.

Survivors include wife, Evelyn Gibb; sons, Roy Gibbs, of Savannah, Tenn., Bubba Gibbs, of Waterloo, Ala., and Tracy Gibbs and wife, Crystal, of Savannah, Tenn.; daughter, Patsy Weigart and husband, Chris, of Anderson, Ala.; grandchildren, Justin Weigart, Billy Robertson and wife, Tana, Jennifer Kavich and husband, Nicky, Melinda Gibbs, Gil Gibbs, Melissa Jackson and husband, Matt; four great-grandchildren; and six nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to Wiregrass Hospice for all of their support.

Pallbearers include Tommy Ray, Hubert Lewis, Jimmy May, Jimmy Woods, J.B. Smith, Carrol Curry, Mark Smith and Jimmy Boatwright.
