RICE -- John A. Rice of Drain died Monday, January 3, 1977 at the age of 68. He was born in Myrtle Creek January 1, 1909 and was married in 1963 in Roseburg to Elsie Glaspie who survives him. Also survived by the following children and step-children: Matilda Russell, Nancy McDuffy, Helen Howard, Gloria Lee Firestone, Mary Palmer, Charles Dennie, Art Shaw, Tom Glaspie; several grandchildren; a sister, Doris Householder. Funeral services will be held at MILLS MORTUARY in Drain Thursday, January 5th at 1:30 p.m. with interment in the Drain Cemetery.
