Dale E. Bucklin, 40, of Auburn-Pownal Road died at his home over the weekend of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to a spokesman in the state Medical Examiner's Office.
He was born in Brunswick, a son of Everett and Marguerite Johnson Bucklin. He attended local schools and was a 1974 graduate of Freeport High School. He also studied automotives at Central Maine Vocational Technical Institute.
For many years, Mr. Bucklin was employed at L.L. Bean in Freeport.
His hobbies and interests included brook fishing, listening to old music, old cars and going to flea markets.
A daughter, Sandra L. Bucklin, died in 1981.
A private service will be held. Arrangements are by Crosman Funeral Home, Lisbon Falls.
