James was born June 21, 1979 in Columbus, OH, the son of James E. Adams, Sr. and Joyce E. Libbey.
Since receiving his high school diploma in 1999, James had worked at several businesses, most recently at Friendly's Restaurant, Cortland and at one time at the Golden Skillet as well as Tammy Thomas Accounting and Tax Service.
He loved sports, especially basketball and baseball and enjoyed playing video games with his good friend, Mike Carruthers.
James is survived by his loving mother, Joyce E. Adams of Cortland and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father, James E. Adams, Sr. in 2000.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 N. Main St., Homer, with the Rev. Matthew Smith officiating. Interment in Taylor Rural Cemetery will be delayed until spring.
There will be no calling hours.
