b. 6 June 1920, TN – d. 17 September 1975, (Father, Physician, Carpenter, Friend), md Harriet E. (unknown) Hoffmeister).

COOKEVILLE – Funeral services for Dr. James A. Hoffmeister, 55, were to be conducted from the chapel of Hooper and Huddleston Funeral Home today at 2:30 p.m. with Charles Williamson and Dr. Louis Britt officiating.
Dr. Hoffmeister died Wednesday at his cabin in North Carolina following a heart attack. He was a graduate of Tennessee Tech, a graduate of UT Medical College and for 17 years was a general practitioner in Kingston, TN.
Due to ill health he closed his office in Kingston, and at the time of his death he was head of emergency service at university hospital in Knoxville.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Harriet E. Hoffmeister, Knoxville; a son, Dr. James A. Hoffmeister III, Dickson, TN: two daughters, Mrs. Kittie Kramer and Debbie Hoffmeister of Knoxville; a grandson, James A. Hoffmeister IV, Dickson, TN. Four sisters, Mrs. James V. Minor, Nashville, Mrs. Claren Loftis, Cookeville, Mrs. Pauline Roberts, Kingsport, TN, and Mrs. Aline Beeler, Knoxville.
Burial was to be in Cookeville City Cemetery.
