Marcia A. Pollard, age 75, of Liberty,
Mo., passed away December 25, 2009.
Marcia was born July 30, 2009, in Lexington,
Mo., to Robert P. and Quindaro
(Brooks) Jackson. She attended Douglas
School in Lexington, Mo. Marcia was
united in marriage to George V.
(Slocum) Pollard on December 18, 1982
and they recently celebrated their 27th
anniversary.
Marcia retired in 1996 with over 20
years of service as a Missouri State employee
in various positions including Nutrition
Educational Assistant (N.E.A.)
with the University of Missouri Extension
Service and Social Case Worker for
the Missouri Division of Family Services
in both Lafayette and Clay Counties.
While working as an N.E.A. in 1974, she
was selected to represent the Show-Me
State in the National Association of Extension
Home Economist of the year
recognition award program.
Marcia is survived by her husband,
George V. (Slocum) Pollard of the
home; two sons, Dr. Richard C. Lee
(Lucille) of Raleigh, NC, Allan D. Lee
(Georgia) of Liberty; a daughter,
Tamara A. Lee of Liberty; a brother,
Robert P. Jackson Jr., of Flint Mich.; two
daughters-in-law, Sandy Lee of Independence,
Mo., and Sheila Lee of Lexington;
grandchildren, great grandchildren,
and a host of family and friends.
Marcia was a member of Christ Temple
North Church in Gladstone, Mo.
Services will be 12 p.m. Saturday, Jan.
2, at the Second Baptist Church in Lexington.
Burial in Lexington Memory
Gardens Cemetery. Visitation from 11
a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, at the church.
