Thomas was the son of James Duff II (1792-1877)and Hannah Wickizer(1803- 1869)From Arthur Duff, Thomas' grandson...It seems one winter the Indians took a calf from Thomas' place. The next Spring they heard a noise and found a deer had been dropped near the cabin door. Another story is...Jessie James took a horse from their correll and nailed a $50.00 bill to the gate post. A relative says he has papers proving Thomas' second wife Cassie (Nancy May Catherine Lee) was half Indian.

Thomas married first Mary Louise Jenkins Inman 27 May 1860 in Cass, Indiana. Their children were: 1- Frances E Duff 1865 and 2- Ettie abt 1867.

He married second Nancy Mary Catherine (Cassie) Lee (1873-1940) 1 Jan 1892, Douglas Co., MO. Their children were 1- William Roy Duff 1894-1950 2- Eva Victoria Duff 1896-1973
3- Mary Elizabeth Duff 1898- 1993 4- Marion Arthur 1902- 1985 5- Robert Nelson 1905-1982.

Mary Louisa Jenkins first married Wiley Inman and had Eugene M 1858-1926 and Cora M L 1860-1938.

Many attributed Cora to Thomas Jefferson, but he must have adopted her as she appears on the 1860 census as Cora Inman.

Thomas's brother Jacob married Drucilla Jenkins. Drucilla had a younger sister Mary Louisa who Thomas married in 1860.
