The relatives and friends of Mrs. Bates are invited to attend her funeral services in Eccles United Methodist Church, Eccles Church Road, Huger,SC, Tuesday April 9, 2002 at 3 o'clock. Interment, Churchyard Cemetery. Friends may call at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., North Area Chapel, Monday, April 8, 2002, from 6 until 8 o'clock.

Mrs. Bates was born October 8, 1916, a daughter of William Daniel Sease and Lela Hiers Sease. She was a member of North Charleston United Methodist Church and Willing Workers Sunday School Class.

She is survived by three daughters, Marian B. Sheeran of North Charleston, Nell B. Beasley of Bishopville,SC, and Elaine B. Smith of Mt. Pleasant, SC; four grandchildren, Michelle Beasley, Sheila Ruiz, Michael Beasley, and Laurin Smith Collar; and three great-grandchildren, Ariana Ruiz, Jonathan Ruiz and Haley Beasley.
