Sarah Jane "Janie" Anderson-Johnson was born on 13 Mar 1861 probably in Benton County, TN. In 1890, she received a letter from her sister, Susie, from Caruth, MO, a community south of Kennett, MO and not far from Benton County, TN.

When James and Janie married on 10 Sep 1885, it was in the home of her brother, who resided in Caruthersville, MO, a location not far from Caruth, MO.

Janie and Jim had the following children: Charles Parker, Murray California, Ida Pearl, and Elsie Jane Johnson.

She died after thirty-seven years, two hundred forty-two days giving birth to Elsie Jane. She and Jim were married thirteen years. At her death, Charlie was six years old; Murray was three years old and Jim was thirty-eight years old.

She was buried next to Ida Pearl at the West Line Cemetery.
