Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the Elgin United Methodist Church with the Rev. Deloris Click officiating. Burial will follow at the Ethel Reece Cemetery, Barnsdall, Okla.
Friends may visit at the Arnold Moore-Barnsdall Funeral Home until the funeral Friday.
Mrs. Adkins was born March 28, 1924 in Chinco, Calif., the daughter of Estes Giles and Viola Elizabeth (Morrell) Aldridge. She moved with her family as a child, as her father worked in the oil fields, living in Leon and then near Pawhuska, Okla. She graduated from Wynona High School in 1943.
She married Herbert Loyd Adkins Sr. on June 5, 1943 in Fresno, Calif. He died in 1990.
Following Mr. Adkins' discharge from the Army Air Corps in 1945, the couple moved to Pawhuska, Okla. They moved to Corpus Christi, Texas, before relocating to Elgin in 1956, where she has lived since.
Mrs. Adkins was a member of Elgin United Methodist Church, serving as a song leader and Sunday School teacher. She was a charter member of the United Methodist Women and also a member of the Elgin Busy Bees. She was active with Elgin Senior Citizens and work Elgin news for the Sedan Times Star.
