H. H. Knighton (Dateline, Gibsland, La., Feb. 22) Died at the home of his son, Mr. J.G. Knighton on Sunday afternoon after a lingering illness due to heart trouble and other complications attendent upon his advanced age. Mr. Knighton was one of the active figures in the settlement and development of this section and was well known and highly esteemed in Claiborne, Webster and Bienville parishes.

Services were held Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock near the old Knighton homestead between Minden and Homer, La. and interment was in the old Gilgal cemetery at the same place. Services were conducted by Rev. B.C. Conant of Gibsland and the pastor of the Mount Perion church near the old home of the deceased. He was buried beside his wife, who preceded him to the grave a year ago. Survived by four sons, Messrs . C.R. Knighton, J.G. Knighton, W.S. Knighton of Gibsland , La. and A.R. Knighton of Minden, La.; a daughter, Mrs. E.C. McKinnis of Delhi, La.; two brothers, John Knighton of Claiborne Parish and W.M. Knighton of Homer, La.; and a sister Mrs. Ella Adkins of Haynesville, La.; several grandchildren.
