Alice Baca Castillo, a resident of Barstow for 58 years, passed away at her home on June 3, 2007. She was born August 2, 1929, in Magdalena, New Mexico. Alice was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Legion of Mary. Alice loved her family and loved to help everyone with healing herbs.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Castillo; granddaughter, Laura Jones; and grandson, Jeremy Castillo. Alice is survived by her children, Wilfred Baca and his wife, Linda, of Denver, Colorado, Helen Sorum, and Manuel Castillo of Barstow; grandchildren, Michelle Trujillo, Monica Gurule, and Will Baca of Denver, Co., Papillon Romero of Houston, Texas, and Michael Castillo of Riverside; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-granddaughters; wonderful sisters and brothers; brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-laws and their families. Burial will be held Friday, June 8, 2007, at Mt. View Memorial Park.
