Mrs. Veal was a native of Covington but had made her home in Milledgeville. She was a 1954 graduated of Peabody High School and worked with Midway Elementary School as secretary until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her parents John Ray and Mary Death Bouchillon, her husband Harvey Jordan "Sonny" Veal, Jr. a brother and sister, James Bouchillon and Sybil Carter. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her son Steven R. Veal of Milledgeville, Susan Cheek (Norman) of Dudley, Sandra Burgamy (Tim) and Stella Marie Veal all of Milledgeville, a brother John Ray Bouchillon (Martha Jo) of Conyers, 4 grandchildren; Jennifer Winkler, Michael E. Hatcher, Christopher Veal and Amy Veal, 3 great-grandchildren; Gavin Veal, Morgan Hatcher and Mason Hatcher.
