ADAMS COUNTY VETERAN WHO WAS BURIED TODAY HAD RELATIVES HERE
Frank Arnold, aged seventy-six, one of the most prominent and wealthy farmers of Kirkland township, Adams County, died Monday morning at his home, following an illness of paralysis. Mr. Arnold was a soldier in the Civil War and was a prominent member of the G. A. R. and had a number of relatives in this county.
He was a native of Germany, where he was born November 14, 1841, a son of August and Augusta Arnold. When but eight years of age he came to this country, settling in this state and becoming one of the most influential members of his community, and accumulated by great industry, much wealth.
He was married in young manhood to Miss Sarah Barger. The widow and six children are saddened by his death. The children are: Albert Arnold, Mrs. Sarah Martin, Decatur; William Arnold, Charles C. Arnold, Edward Arnold, Magley; Mrs. Rosa Milroy, Warren, Ohio.
Mr. Arnold was a brother of Mrs. Robert Case of Decatur, Mrs. Amelia Ashbaucher, Bluffton; William Arnold, Liberty Center; Lewis Arnold, Bluffton.
Mr. Arnold was a member of the Reformed Church. The funeral was held this afternoon, leaving the house at one o'clock, for the Pleasant Dale church, where the Rev. W. H. Schorer of Vera Cruz, officiated. Burial was in the Pleasant Dale cemetery.
