Benjamin Willis Welty was born at Milledgeville, Illinois, on October 11, 1882, and departed this life at the Webster County Hospital in Red Cloud on Saturday, May 15, 1965. He was 82 years old and had been a resident of Blue Hill for the past 18 years.
Survivors are his wife Ina; daughters, Mrs. Walter Stott of Los Angeles and Mrs. Lawrence Guertz of San Rafael, Calif., three grandchildren and five great grandchildren and his sisters, Mrs. Marion Riggs of Tempe, Ariz., and Mrs. Bessie Webster of Wheaton, Minn.
There also are his stepsons and stepdaughters, Kenneth and Emil Wagoner of Blue Hill, Byron Wagoner of Omaha, Marion Wagoner of Kent, Wash., Marlin Wagoner of Seattle, Mrs. Herbert Marquardt of Adak, Wash., Mrs. Louis Purvis of Hastings and Mrs. Rex Durstine of Anaheim, Calif.
Services were held at the Merten-Butler Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Thuman Bachenberg officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Charles Haase and Vernon Carper. They were accompanied by Mrs. Norris Augustin.
