BARRE - Gloria L. Prescott, a loving Mother, Noni and Great Noni, passed away on Aug. 7, 2010 to be with her Lord after a courageous battle with ill health for several years.

Gloria was born in Barre on Jan. 27, 1931. She graduated from Spaulding High school in 1948. She Married Lawrence E. Prescott on July 2, 1949 and together they raised one son and three daughters.

She worked part time for a few years as a secretary for WSKI radio station, but preferred being home to raise her family. Gloria was a long-standing member of the Woman's Auxiliary of the VFW Post 792. Gloria, lovingly remembered as "Mom, Noni, Zia Gloria and Glo" by most, enjoyed cooking, baking and always had great Italian dishes and desserts ready for her family and friends. Her special joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Her fondest of memories would be for Newfound Lake in Bristol N.H., where her family gathered every summer for many years. She enjoyed reading, collecting clown figurines, as well as playing cribbage and cards. Gloria will be greatly missed by all those who had the true privilege to have known and loved her.

Gloria was predeceased by her parents; sisters and brothers; as well as her husband, Lawrence E. Prescott, in 2006, after being together for 57 years.
