Son of Joseph DeCosmo, Sr. and Victoria (nee Kaniecki) DeCosmo.

Edward served as a Sergeant & Left Waist Gunner on B-17 "Red Hot Riding Hood" #42-3223, 533rd Bomber Squadron, 381st Bomber Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Baltimore, Maryland prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on December 27, 1941 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Driver and also as Single, without dependents.

Edward died in the "Line Of Duty" when his B-17 caught on fire, for an unknown reason, and exploded over Rattlesden Air Field, Rattlesden, England during the war.
