Mr. James T.Gary

James T.Gary, age 88,of Eupora, MS died Friday, July 23, 2010,in Texarkana,TX at the Cornerstone Methodist Retirement Center. Mr.Gary was born December 19, 1921, in Eupora, MS and had lived there most of his life until he moved to Cornerstone Methodist Retirement Center in Texarkana.

He was a graduate of Mississippi State University; a member of the Rotary Club; Member of the First United Methodist and Childs Sunday School Class, served on Board of Stewards and other committees of the church.

Mr Gary was very active in the farming country and enjoyed it until his declining health. He was a caregiver for his mother, father, sisters and brother.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James O. and Mary Bailey Gary, his first wife, Mary Woods Gary and second wife, Willard Smith Gary, brother, Coneus W.Gary, sisters, Alto Gary Tyson, Mary Gary Hayden, and Jimmie Gary Batton.

Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Dr.Lloyd E. and Clarice Gary of Texarkana, TX; 6 nieces, Dorothy and Howard Haywood, Judith and Marvin Mims, Mary Ethel and Roger Muns, Jan and Bill Hommel, Lisa and Mike Hart and Robin Lynn Gary; 2 step-sons, Mark and Sally Smith of Ben Brook, TX and Tim and Leah Smith of Springfield, MO; 4 step-grandchildren;1 great niece and 3 great nephews; several cousins including Brown and Maxie Bailey who where special to his care while in Eupora.

Funeral services were held at 10 00 a.m on Tuesday,July 27,2010 in the First United Methodist Church,Eupora,MS with Rev. Willy Weddle officiating. Burial followed in
the Eupora Cemetery.

Pall bearers were Mike Reed,Charlie Ward,Mike and Gerald Gary,Randy and Billy Tabb,Brown Bailey and Bill Yates.

Oliver Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.

Memorial may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Eupora,MS.
