Omer Perry Stephenson, 80, died at his Watonga home Sunday. Funeral services were held Wednesday in Keller Funeral Chapel.
He was born near Thurman, Iowa, April 4, 1878. He was married to Myrtle Mae Lucas in 1897. She and a son, Roy Lee, died in 1919. In 1923 he was married to Florence Wilkie.
Mr. Stephenson was a member of the Methodist church. He attended the University of Nebraska, and was a professional baseball player. Mr. Stephenson was a member of the K. P. lodge at Thurman, Iowa, and the Elks lodge of Altus.
Survivors include his wife of the home, and children Loyd Stephenson, Blair, Okla.; Blanche King, Lawrence, Kansas; Orah Morris, San Francisco; Opal Fontaine, San Francisco; Mike Stephenson Medicine Lodge, Kansas, and Jim Stephenson, Watonga.
Rev. Edwin Meyer, pastor of the Mt. Calvary Lutheran church in Watonga, officiated at the services. Interment was at Blair, Oklahoma."
