Ernest Conley, the son of Ernest and Henrietta Hass Conley, was born July 11, 1924, at Washta, Iowa. He was educated in the schools near his childhood home. He was united in marriage to Thelma Eubank on June 4, 1944, at Washta, Iowa, and they made their home in Sutherland, Iowa, since the 1950's. "Bud" worked for many years at the elevator and for several years as manager, retiring in 1984.
He was united in marriage to Rebecca Mills on April 19, 1986, at Sioux Falls, South Dakota. They made their home at Sutherland.
He passed away at Sutherland on May 25, 1992, at the age of 67. Preceding him in death were his parents, and his wife, Thelma, in 1983.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Becky; one son and his wife, Mike and Denise Conley of Spencer, Iowa; two step-children. Melody and Thomas McCoy, both at home; two brothers and their wives, Ron and Donna Conley of Cherokee, Iowa, and Larry and Mary Conley of Omaha; two sisters and their husbands, Joann and Lyle Askeland of Sanborn, Iowa, and Betty and Russ Baldwin of Forest City, Iowa; as well as other relatives and friends.
